Artist's Description
This rusty old partially sunken machine know as Quincy Dredge No.2 is located in Torch Lake near Hubble, MI. This machine was used to reclaim sand that was put in the lake from an earlier stamping method used to extract copper from rock. Improvements in mining technology helped with extracting copper left in these sand deposits. This dredge was originally owned by the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company and was later purchased by the Quincy Mining Company. The dredge sank at its current resting location during the winter of 1968.
About Steve L'Italien

I mainly like to shoot photos of landscape, nature, and architecture (old, new, barns, and abandoned buildings). I occasionally will dive into some automotive, trains, and the occasional natural abstract. I like to review all images meticulously before uploading to provide you with the most outstanding...
